Blå Station is a family-run company founded in 1986 by Börge Lindau, a Swedish designer who wanted to produce furniture that he felt deserved a place on the market. Blå Station furniture is designed for contract and outdoor use, with applications in domestic contexts. Located in a former tailor’s shop in the small seaside town of Åhus, the company immediately became an atypical workshop, a “station” with a relaxed and fun atmosphere conducive to innovative ideas and proposals. This winning formula has brought Blå Station into the international limelight with numerous prizes, awards and commissions for important public venues worldwide. All Blå Station products are made in Sweden, using Scandinavian raw materials following sustainable production criteria. Each product is born out of an inexhaustible curiosity for originality and the desire to offer something unexpected, not only in terms of form but also in terms of function, materials and production process. The brand’s starting point is always the analysis of the space that will host an object to best identify the public’s needs in a constantly evolving world.

In 2017, Blå Station presented the BOB collection, a seating system designed by Thomas Bernstrand and Stefan Borselius. The collection's progenitor, the BOB sofa, consists of seven 26-centimetre wide modules assembled in straight, curved, mirrored, wavy or round compositions, to fit into any type of space. Ease of assembly and flexibility combined with rigorous and essential design made this product enormously successful; it has won numerous international awards and is used to furnish public spaces and offices all over the world. Bob is composed of independent modules for each component, from the seat to the backrest to the armrests; they can be assembled at will to create sofas, benches or ottomans. Over time, the collection has been enriched with different elements and new versions, making BOB an increasingly complete and versatile system. In 2018, BOB Betong was launched. It is the outdoor version of BOB in concrete, suitable for public spaces and urban furniture. The following year the company presented BOB Home, modifying the seat dimensions and adding softer padding and a thinner armrest than the original. Among the many accessories are BOB Light, a dimmable LED lamp that mounts on the backrest and follows the sofa's curved shape perfectly, illuminating the seating area with an intimate and focused light.
Designed for web connections, the CUT for BOB coffee table in steel or painted aluminium fits between two modules to provide a convenient surface for electronic devices. BOB's natural evolution towards universal use led to the creation of BOB JOB, an island for offices or meeting areas and waiting rooms that can be assembled as desired. An ideal solution for informal and creative workspaces, the BOB sofa modules are completed with elements like charging sockets and include storage furniture, shelving, decorative elements in oak, and partitions with shelves. The BOB family's latest addition is BOBBY, a slimmer version of its big brother, suitable for smaller spaces.
